Hello Skiers and Riders,
Squaw Valley is reporting 6 inches of snow over the past 24 hours at the 8200 foot level. I can only imagine it is pretty slushy, but better than nothing. At 7000 feet, the base of Alpine Meadows, there is a little slush on the road, but most of the weather has been rain and wind. The wind was certainly blowing strongly overnight and into this morning. Early this morning it is cloudy, on the warm side, but dry (nothing dropping from the sky). Forecasters are not offering us much hope for the coming day with more rain predicted (at least on the lower slopes). Over 8000 feet we may see snow up to a couple of feet.
In the meantime, we sit and wait, or look for good deals in the real estate market. An associate in my office has a 3500 sq.ft. home in Tahoe Donner listed for $615,000. This is a short sale. The house has 4 bedroom 4 baths and a 2 car garage. You can take a look at the property at the following: Contact me if you have any interest in this or other Truckee/Tahoe properties (here’s the link).
Pray for snow.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
Thanks for the weather updates! I say that you never really know till you’re in it, so your reports are the next best thing for me. Also glad you documented the Saturday when Squaw workers were shoveling snow into the “run” so I could get down the mtn on mostly snow and slush, not dirt. Hilarious – my friends didn’t believe me.
