An Invitation To Play Hookie

Dear UA,

We just had to let you know the stoke was high at Alpine Meadows today! Why, you may ask? Well, when you’re skiing with friends that have showed up from half way around the world and don’t bitch about conditions, it makes you love what you got!

With the groomers skiing fast and friendly early this morning and the lake a mirror of blue, the posse was on cloud 9! The lip off of Alpine Bowl was allowing us a thrill with airtime as we descended into our runs. Funny that when that Contour camera starts rolling, it’s surprising how the people you ski with will step up their game!

The chairlift rides were full of stoke on skinny skis, snowmaking, and a spring fever atmosphere. Although there were no lines at Summit, people could still not load fast enough in order to get another scoop of goodness. We saw lots of groups of excellent skiers and riders today, throwing down the bright colors, the wild onsies (as it is every Wednesday) and claiming it!

Off piste skiing this afternoon proved there is still clean chalky lines to be had, so get that free ticket to your friend who is stuck behind a desk somewhere and come enjoy the goods!

Come play hookie, Mark!

We love the theme here, and it’s one we have been stuck on for a while. The skiing and riding is all what you make of it. We had an awesome 3 days of skiing sneaker lines and chalky winter snow stashed around the mountain last weekend. It really is terrible being cooped up indoors at work this week…can’t wait for Saturday!

Alpine Meadows is making things more and more attractive every day. Last week the free buddy tickets were announced. Now, the Tahoe Super 2 Day ticket is available for only $119. A three day advanced purchase is required, but the savings are well worth it.

Go skiing and riding. πŸ™‚ See you Saturday Valleygirl & Friends!

No real changes to the long term forecast. Every run of the GFS today waffled on the possibility of snow during the first week of February. No point in beating that dead horse right now.

  1. This is good to hear that it’s not all doom and gloom. will be skiing in two weeks at tahoe so I’ll give it a shot. I hope it snows or I may just end up driving to SLC (only 7 more hours of driving)
