We first told you about the “Cusp Of Glory: A Tahoe Coach’s Legacy” back in early November. Since then, we have seen some exciting developments. The film documents 5 athletes and their connection to Alpine Meadows Freestyle Team head coach Clay Beck. Recently, we’ve been reporting on David Wise and Brita Sigourney’s podium finishes that bring them each one step closer to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. These two athletes really are Clay’s legacy, as it was his efforts that got the US Ski Team interested in supporting skier halfpipe at the Olympics. The first FIS halfpipe NorAm event in the US was held in the Alpine Meadows halfpipe on Kangaroo in 2005.
The film will premiere at the Plaza Bar at Squaw Valley on January 19th at 7:00 pm. Tickets for the premiere are now available online at the Cusp Of Glory site. The venue is small and interest in the film is growing rapidly. It’s possible that the event will sell out, and if not prices will double at the door. Adult tickets are available for $10, with reduced pricing for youth and children. Adult tickets include entry into a raffle that has some great prizes, including a hell-ski trip donated by Points North Heli.
We are super happy to be a supporter of this event and we hope to see many of you there!
