It’s a drizzly morning in Tahoe, which gives me a minute to post some photos of the construction projects at Alpine Meadows. As I forecasted the other day, not much rain has made it past the crest of the Sierra. We have seen only about o.01 inch of rain in Truckee. The west slope has seen quite a bit more, with as much as an inch falling in the area of the Mosquito fire. The southerly winds have been a blessing, pushing most of the smoke out of the Tahoe area.
My friend Andrew (not the Andy) hiked at Alpine the other day and took some photos of the current state of affairs. There’s still a ways to go for projects there. I’m guessing that I am not the only one that needs to see at least another month of reasonably dry weather to extend the construction season. Thanks to Andrew for supplying the photos!
You know I really enjoy your blog but enough already with the grousing about the Gondola. It’s a fait accompli and no amount of living in the past or predicting how it’s going to ruin the hill, or that a partially built building is an eyesore is going to make it magically go away. So, no matter what one’s opinion of it is, how about focusing on what benefits the gondola might just surprise us all with in the future or at the very least, why not wait and let the Gondola speak for itself once it’s complete and operating.
All I can think of is Wow, heartbreaking
Yup
