Happy Easter

  • by

The Alpine Meadows Jewish Ski Community wishes everyone a very Happy Easter Holiday.

It was warm from the start this morning. Sunspot, Wolverine, Alpine Bowl, and Terry’s Return offered good smooth spring snow for the first few runs. Lower down Red Trail or Dance Floor was still firm in the early morning as were some of the other Blue Trails. Werner’s Schuss and Charity were good examples of the early firm corduroy.

After flying down from Summit Chair a few times we headed over to Sherwood where I enjoyed a couple of soft and smooth trips down the groomed run which is beginning to show obstacles as the sun uncovers more dirt and rocks each day. Directly under the chair, although soft, are pretty good sized moguls, but to the skiers left and the skiers right one was able to find less bumpy spring snow.

Perhaps just before 11 we headed for Lakeview where Mountain View was still not perfect, but Bobby’s and Ridge were in beautiful spring mode.

Last run for us before lunch was on Yellow which was also in excellent smooth spring condition.

Randy and Bonnie Celebrating his Birthday

A perfect spring day was on hand for Randy Salzman’s birthday party at the Alpine Chalet. Bonnie produced some delicious cookies for the crowd of well wishers and daughter Sydney roused the crowd hanging around the chalet in a loud cheer as Randy skied up in his Sponge Bob outfit.

Enjoy your day,

Andy

Editor’s note: Andy had a link for a fishing video in the original post, but the link was broken and I could not fix it. Also, word is that the Golden Egg was still not found at Alpine Meadows by early afternoon…also heard that today was the last day of the season for the Subway chair.
