Just so we are clear, we’re taking no credit for this podcast. All we’re doing is telling you about it. I’ve become a huge fan of Stuart Winchester’s podcast “The Storm Skiing Journal”, and you should become a fan as well.
His latest installment is an extensive interview with Squaw Valley COO Ron Cohen, in regards to the decision to drop the “Squaw” from Squaw Valley. While I enjoy writing, and I enjoy talking to people, I am not a great interviewer. I’m easily distracted, especially on the phone. It’s a great thing that Stuart is there to pick up the slack.
The 50 minute interview takes a deep dive into the reasoning behind the decision to change the name. Take the time to listen and you will understand that far more went in to the decision that just being a knee-jerk reaction to the latest political climate. There are no new details about what that name might be, but Mr. Cohen does a good job explaining why they are taking their time in deciding.
