Unconfirmed Pass Prices For 2013-14

These arrived in our inbox today from an unconfirmed source. Think of it being like the weather forecasts for the last three months..it might be right or it might be completely wrong. Fairly similar to last year’s pricing at this time. It  looks like about a 10% increase to prices based on early purchase prices last year. Feel free to comment.

  1. The gold pass looks like a $70 increase. So after a crappy season the price increases 10%. They better replace the Hot Wheels life this summer.

    1. They should consider a discounted Alpine Only pass for those who don’t want the Glam at Squaw. I guess Andy didn’t get the memo. AM is empty at the existing pricing.

  2. Believe Vail Corp. lowest price is $389. Sheesh, better snowmaking and a terrain park that is in a better location at Northstar. Pity Northstar is so crowded these days. Alpine will be more expensive and all we get is the mile long travesty known as the “Firing Line”. Extraordinary mismangement. Heard they will replace Hot Wheels, but that means the days of solitude back at Sherwood will be a distant memory next year.

  3. I think I might splurge and go Gold. With lift ticket prices so high, the mountain is empty during holiday blackout days. Two days in during the holidays will make up the difference.

  4. Next season you get 8 friends/family tickets for $ 80weekend/$60 weekday, non Holiday only if you purchase pass by closing day.
Price this year Vs. last year Adult 23-64/Young Adult 13-22, increase; Vail price:
    Gold
    $769/$599 Vs. $699/$529; +$70/+$70; Vail price $689/$689

    Silver
    $539/$389 Vs. $469/$349; +$70/+$40; Vail price $439/$329

    Bronze
    $479/$329 Vs. $399/$299; +$80/+$30; Vail price $389/$309

  5. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a economist, but according to some websites, the inflation rate for the United States is roughly 1.4% for 2013 going into 2014. So, how does this justify a 10% increase in season prices? The new Hot Wheels lift (which I hope they’ll rename Weasel Pass Chair) should already be budgeted by the bean counters. Could it be the higher expense for the “Firing LIne” or to make up for the poor walk up sales this season due to higher daily lift ticket pricing? What are we as the customer seeing for that 10% increase from last season? Grooming was certainly improved, but if we are to believe the “Undercover” broadcast, Alpine has become Squaw’s development ski area. We will see, but I do fear what is happening at Alpine these days.

  6. If you dont like the prices go ski at Northstar or Heavently, oh yeah those places suck, so you will pay whatever KSL decides to charge. Skiing all season at Alpine/Squaw for $769 (unrestricted) is a hell of a deal even if its more than it cost the last few years. People just like to bitch… I was at Alpine today and barely saw a soul on Keyhole, cant wait until they finish moving it.

  7. i love alpine and have had a ton of fun there this year after being away for a while, but the price increases and mismangement aren’t encouraging me to return next year.

i’ll be at sugar bowl next year. $399 for a sunday pass and a new lift that actually accesses new terrain (*cough* big blue bullshit). see you in the cave!
