Another Walk To Another Alpine Lake

  • by

Hello Friends,

Five Lakes is in my backyard, but it has been so overused these days that I rarely make the effort to scoot up the trail. However, I did pop up to the lake a couple of days ago very early in the morning. With the hot weather we have been having starting early is a good way to take advantage of the cooler morning temperatures.

The trail was basically vacant on my trip up to the lake. Later, on my way down, it was becoming increasingly busy. Sitting alone on the edge of the lake with silence surrounding me was inspiring. As most of you know it is a moderate two and a half mile hike filled with panoramic views. Wildflowers are blooming along the way.

Tahoe is filled with people, or it seems that way. Summer is in full swing, coronavirus and all. Roads are lined with cars, boats are tied to buoys, and restaurants are full (at least on their outside tables). The Truckee River is a line of rafters and bike trails are stuffed with cyclists. It has been very warm which might make jumping into the cold Tahoe water enjoyable. A couple of photos from my Five Lakes walk are attached.

Enjoy Your Day

Andy
