Low Angle Day

Low clouds hung over the top of the mountains this morning creating vertigo for some of us. Snow squalls came and went and then returned. Sun rays popped out and then went away. It was a variable day on the slopes. Overnight it did snow a few inches. Some slope grooming was completed prior to snow falling which created a smooth surface with a light snow topping. There was just enough snow to allow early risers to etch fresh tracks. However, off piste was not as delightful as the underlayment was firm. Low angle areas offered the most smooth ride. Powerline, a few areas off Lakeview, Alpine Bowl and Terry’s Return were soft enough. We found virgin snow on Kangaroo, I have sworn not to reveal the specific spot.
Attached is a photo of one hillside I took before we destroyed it on the next run.
There was enough new snow today to make it fun, but we could use a little more to cover some of the hard slopes.

Enjoy your day,

Andy

  1. Andy…Don’t ever reveal that secret spot. Like ever. And Mark, Dr. Bob says being in the outside air will shorten your cold…trust me.

  2. So keeping a secret – your private powder stash……
Love your daily updates. Not feeling badly I missed today.
    More power to you.
