Bennett Drummond Ties For 4th At The Mountain Games

Alpine Meadows telemarker Bennett Drummond placed 4th this month at the Eddie Bauer Mountain Games in Vail, Colorado. Drummond, age 14, is a member of the Alpine Meadows Telemark Team. Bennett competed against a tough field of 15 international competitors in the finals of the Telemark Big Air Competition.

The event, held at night on a 70 foot jump, is done simultaneously with a BMX jump competition. This is Bennett’s second year competing in the Mountain Games, where last year he earned the award for “Random Acts Of Radness.” This year he managed a 4th place finish with a large and stylish true tail 720. Drummond has made quite a name for himself as a young competitor, as well as letting the rest of the world know that Alpine Meadows has a fantastic tele team.

Bennett will be traveling this weekend to Grand Targhee to compete in the 3rd Annual Big Mountain Telemark Comp; and in March will be heading to Crested Butte for the US  Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships.  Yeah, he has a lot going on!

Did we mention that Bennett is also featured in the latest digital issue of Telemark Skier Magazine? Sadly, it’s subscription only. Great work Bennett, and thanks to Bennett’s mom Lilith Anderson for sharing with us.
