Andy Wirth Announces A Tribute To Patroller Bill Foster & An Alpine-Squaw Dog Team

In an awesome tribute to Patroller Bill Foster, this week Andy Wirth announced some new partnerships:

• The Alpine Meadows and Squaw Avalanche Rescue Dog Teams will be combining forces to improve both teams’ capabilities and become one of the most elite rescue programs in the country.

• Alpine Meadows and Squaw have always been strong supporters of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. Fundraising in the wake of Bill Foster’s avalanche death in December has raised enough money to dedicate an adoption room in his honor. It is a fitting tribute for Bill.

  1. If Alpine Meadows really wants to remember Bill Foster for his time and service at Alpine, besides placing his name on a plaque in the breezeway, but how about naming the Hot Wheels replacement lift in his name, with a plaque nearby describing his contribution to keeping Alpine safe for everyone all these years?
