BusinessInsider.com has released its list of “The Most Underrated Ski Resorts In America.” Alpine Meadows ranked number 10 on the list, but if you’re an Alpine Meadows regular, you already knew that. Many of us have chosen Alpine over Squaw for many years and we all have our reasons. Here’s a summary of Business Insdier’s reasons:
• 2,400 acres of terrain, about 100 trails and 450″ of annual snowfall
• Family friendly resort
• Wide variety of terrain for all levels of skiers and boarders
• A “laid-back feel”
I seem to remember mentioning that “laid back feel” in a Fakebook comment on Alpine’s page last week and got the smack down for saying say so. Apparently there are other people that share and appreciate that vision. Interestingly, the article does not mention Alpine’s terrain parks as a major draw….when will the world catch up?
Kudos to all of the mountain managers and staff that helped Alpine Meadows earn this recognition. We hope the current owners don’t screw that up.
