Hello Skiers and Riders,
Thin high clouds moved through the area today with temperatures cooling a little from the last few days.
Winds were racing over the ridge top and blowing snow down The Face at noon. The snow surface stayed on the firm side longer today than yesterday, but it was soft on the Sherwood side of the mountain at noon.
I skied a few runs under the Sherwood Chair and in the area of the South Face. Smooth groomed areas were just right with a little corn as a topping. I found the groomed runs off Summit to be delightful. Perhaps it was the light crowd, but even at noon the surface had not been completely shaved off. The far side of Wolverine under Idiots still had firm rubble lying between soft mogul troughs, but I’ll bet it all turned to corn around 1:30. The groomed areas of Lakeview and Scott were smooth with a soft topping.
Late this afternoon the sky is clear with temperatures on the mountain in the 30’s and winds blowing in the 40 mile per hour range over the ridges. Maybe Thursday will bring some snow and a change in the jet stream.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
