The Rahlves Banzai Tour gets underway for 2013 at Kirkwood this weekend. The tour offers head to head big mountain competition, with four competitors on course at once. Racer Daron Rahlves convinced Sugar Bowl to start this “big mountain ski meets boarder cross” event in 2009. The event grew in 2010 and expanded to a four stop tour in 2011.
The Alpine Meadows tour stop is right around the corner, on February 9-10. With a venue beginning on Wolverine Bowl and ending with a trip down The Face, there’s plenty of opportunity for some fast and furious action. If you’re finding it difficult to get motivated to get out to Alpine during this dry spell – here’s a reason to get out to the mountain. There’s both a welcome party and apres party to meet Daron and other athletes at the Last Chair Bar.
