The Longest Line At Alpine?

Have you seen the longest line this week at Alpine Meadows? If you guessed the Scott Chair on a powder day, then you have not been around to see the lack of crowds this vacation. If you like to drink water, you may have noticed an unpopular change in the lodge. In previous years a number of larger water coolers were available around the lodge, allowing us to responsibly drink tap water, rather than support the bottled water industry.

We’re sure it seemed like a good idea to install a chilled water fountain in the lodge, and an even better idea to include a cup filler option. But it’s just not enough to meet the current demand. We understand that its labor intensive to refill those coolers – but it’s the right thing to do. Several people have commented that they are seeing more families hauling in bottled water, rather than utilizing Alpine Meadows awesome tap water. Thanks for considering bringing back more water coolers to the main lodge, our bodies and our landfills thank you.
