Hello skiers,
A thin layer of white is covering our mountains. Trees in the upper elevation look frozen in place with a white frosting clinging to each branch. It has been grey for the past few days with snow and rain alternating from the sky above. This afternoon temperatures have dropped allowing the falling precipitation to drop in the form of snow. Alpine and Squaw have had their snow guns sending additional snow flakes into the air in hopes of covering the slopes enough to open in the near future.
It is my understanding that the sun will reappear tomorrow and remain in the sky for the next few days. It will warm over the weekend and into next week, but I believe the overnight temperatures are forecast to be on the cold side of the scale which may allow for additional snow making.
In hopes of a run or two to slide on in the not to distant future, I have taken my skis out and placed them in the ready position.
There are now only five homes for sale in Alpine Meadows along with a couple of condominiums. The market is tight, but a few hidden opportunities are just under surface for those that care to ask.
Enjoy you day,
Andy Wertheim
