Skiing this morning, although the terrain did not change overnight, was slightly better than yesterday. A new layer of snow was made overnight and nicely groomed giving the surface a softer feel this morning. In addition, the number of skiers on the hill was significantly reduced making skiing less crowded and more enjoyable.
This time of year the sun is still low in the sky in the morning and shines down the slope of Treeline Cirque. The sun is warming our backs as we turn down the slope. This is always fun for me as I can watch my shadow as I ski down the hill. Of course the shadows make one look taller then they actually are which makes a short person smile.
Snow guns were blasting away first thing this morning piling up snow on the Meadow and Subway trails.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
