Hello Skiers,
Imagine views stretching out as far as you can see with a deep blue lake sitting in the middle of the scene, and you have today’s weather. A light breeze at the top of Summit Chair that dissipated as soon as you dropped ten feet off the ridge. It was very warm today as a matter of fact it felt like late April. The temperature at the top of Summit was 42 degrees at 2 pm and at the base it climbed to 51 degrees. Of course this created spring snow earlier than yesterday, and I would say it softened even more today than yesterday. Corn off God’s Knob and something close to corn under Tower 19. The same was true out in Wolverine Bowl under Idiot’s Delight.
I did still find firm caulk-like snow under Alpine Bowl Chair (Pygmy Forest) and in lower Palisades as well as in Peril Ridge and Sympathy to the skiers right of Werner’s Shuss. We stayed on Summit Chair all morning alternating from one groomed run to the other. All of them were in good condition. I imagine it got pretty soft on the Sherwood side and perhaps a little sticky later in the morning or early in the afternoon, but there must have been some good soft turns in the moguls on South Face.
If you are headed to Tahoe this weekend bring light clothing and sunscreen. Roads are dry so the commute to Tahoe should be an easy one.
I had a dream last night. I was chest deep in light powder snow getting face shots after each turn. It has happened before, hopefully it will happen again soon.
Enjoy your day,

The south facing slopes from Chute Zero all of the way to CB Chute offered perfect corn before noon today with only the runouts being sticky. We also found incredible corn from Standard over to Mountain View in the afternoon, again with only the runouts being sticky. Lot 4 was half full when we left at two, a sign of a busy weekend ahead.
I have that same dream, Andy – night after night, and sometimes during the day too.
