Hello Friends,
Over 60 degrees today at the base of Alpine Meadows. I am sure it was well into the 70’s elsewhere in Tahoe and Truckee. I just read that Nevada County has loosed the Stay at Home regulations. Outdoor recreation is now allowed within the County as long as participants enjoy activities that can be accomplished in a way that reduces the risk of disease transmission. I notice many mountain and road bikers on the highway and testing out lower lever elevation off road trails. It would be extremely difficult to remain inside on a day like today. Low wind speed, crystal blue skies, and warm temperatures.
I was out and about this afternoon enjoying views of Sierra Valley where cows are returning to graze. I know that some of you are not fond of cattle as they are said to be a major cause of pollution that is causing climate change. But Stanford Doctors put a bovine valve into my chest to replace my worn out aortic valve, which has given me a certain connection to all cows. A few birds and ducks were enjoying the spring weather. It was very peaceful today while I watched Magpies, American Avocet, Ibis, Yellow Headed Black Birds, Coots, and listened to Meadow Larks.
I’ve included photo of my 100+ year old father enjoying the sunshine at the Bear Creek Pond in Alpine Meadows.
I think he was pretty happy to get out of the house.
By the way I noticed that the date for renewal of Alpine Meadows lockers has been extended to 6/25/2020.
Enjoy your day,
Andy
Bless your dad Ernst he is one of our great heros an icon of AM and the valley
What happened to the Ernest pic? We got cows and a bird with a yellow head! 😀
I fixed that Andrew. Ernest is now included in the post.
So that’s why you stopped eating beef! Here I thought you were just being healthy 😉
