Finally…A Storm Day

  • by

Hello Skiers and Riders,

A blizzard, or at least a real storm day, occurred in Tahoe overnight and during most of the day.  We received 4 to 6 inches of snow during the night and into the early morning.  Winds howled overnight and during the morning hours.  Alpine was only operating the lower mountain before noon (Roundhouse and Yellow Chairs), but Summit opened later in the day.  Alpine’s website indicates 5 inches of new snow at the base area.  I would imagine it is slightly deeper on the upper mountain. The snow was not light powder.  It was soft and windpacked, allowing us to leave our mark where it was untouched.

Tomorrow should be a beautiful sunny day with some fresh snow available in the areas that were closed today.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
