Ripping Summit Today…Sherwood Tomorrow

Hello Skiers,
It did not take long for the gray overcast sky to disappear, leaving nothing but blue overhead.  Today the groomed trails sported a very nice packed powder surface.  It was a good surface for screaming fast runs from the top of Summit.  Much of the off piste skier pack was also very good winter packed powder.  I enjoyed D7, Wolverine, Sunspot (a little more firm), Pigmy Forest, and Terry’s Return. The lower portion of Palisades included reasonable size moguls that were fun to turn negotiate.
I checked out Sherwood from the top of Treeline.  I thought it was going to open this morning, but evidently it is tomorrow.  A photo looking down at the grooming is attached.
Art’s Knob has a few good size moguls that have grown among the trees and few slick spots, but in general the snow is excellent on this shaded run. A couple of photos of this tree run are attached.  I have also included a photo of a couple of my friends that I joined for a few runs this morning. Kelly Wee was in town for a couple of days.  He lives on Maui, as you may have noted by the shaka.
Basically the skiing is just excellent.
Enjoy your day,
Andy

  1. For those that are confused about “Treeline”, we asked Andy. Apparently he is talking about the chair called “Hotter Wheels”, “Turbo Weasel” or “Weasel On Speed”. We hope that clears up any confusion!
