Alpine Meadows alumni David Wise and Brita Sigourney are in Aspen this week for another year of the Winter X Games. Both will compete in the Skier Superpipe finals on Friday, hoping to defend their podium positions from the last 2 years.

David Wise is the defending gold medalist from the 2012 X Games. David got off to a solid start today in the elimination round, taking first place with some very solid and clean runs. If you have ever watched David’s determination in practice and training, you’ll understand why he frequently ends up on the podium.
Brita Sigourney is the defending bronze medalist from the 2012 X Games and silver medalist from the 2011 X Games. She also has the distinction of being the first female skier to do a 1080 in the superpipe in competition during the 2012 games. Brita’s season is also off to a solid start, with podium finishes at the Dew Tour Breckenridge stop and the Gran Prix Copper Mountain stop.
The X Games Skier Superpipe Finals will be broadcast on ESPN on Friday, January 25 between 6 and 10 pm.
