More Of The Same…Still Good Skiing & Riding

  • by

Hello Skiers and Riders,

Temperatures have warmed in Tahoe.  It was in the mid to high forties along the Truckee River this afternoon and just over forty degrees at the base of Alpine Meadows.  The sky was a mixture of clouds and sun and the winds picked up to a steady 40 mile per hour in the afternoon.

With a couple of warmer days the south facing slopes are showing spring colors.  Firm to start the day and softer as the day moves along.  Grooming continues to be a stand out and expand at Alpine Meadows.  Conditions are changing slowly with the changes in air temperature, but they are basically still the same as they were a few days ago.  Chalky on north facing slopes that are mostly filled with various size moguls and relatively smooth on the groomed slopes first thing in the morning followed by a more firm surface as the snow is scraped into small piles.

We are hoping for a little snow later today or tonight, however if it arrives,  it will not be much according to the weather service.

Enjoy your day,

Andy
